The Coin Flip

The Coin Flip
written by John Bocchino

A lot of miles and dust on my dash
Changing lanes and shifting fast
Losing track of all the years
And sometimes forget all the tears

All the worry I cannot mask
Not too sure who to ask
It’s black or white some folks say
Flip a coin and get on your way

Gotta get off the side of the road
Keep on moving or just grow old
When the music stops pick a chair
Toss that coin high in the air

Sometimes at night I look to the stars
Where Jupiter and Saturn are guarding Mars
Is someone up there watching me?
Maybe the coin flip is all God sees

A fork in the road, and time to decide
Can’t stop now, no place to hide
Search the heavens for open ears
Maybe the coin flip is all God hears

Moving along and have a new plan
Feeling good about who I am
I hear the voices when the stars are bright
Saying, “Trust the coin flip and you’ll be all right.”
“Trust the coin flip and you’ll be all right.”
